17 Animals More Likely to Kill You Than Sharks

Shark Week is upon us!

To many of us animal enthusiast, we anxiously await these seven days-known as Shark Week–  much like many others would count down the days to their beloved holiday.

Although Discovery Channel’s Shark Week still isn’t what it used to be, they are at least pushing some programs this year that portray this top predator in a more positive light instead of the stereotypical ‘man-eaters’ that seem to draw in the views and feed the fears.

Curious Conservationist Questions

Education is Conservation

While out on adventure, I try to learn as many new things about the area I am exploring as I can.  Whether in your backyard or some far away land, researching about the natural history can open your eyes to a world you may never knew existed.

Gaining as much information as you can about the natural world is the best place to start -or continue- your road to discovery.  Education can debunk myths, help overcome fears, and pave the road to many more adventures.

Tip: Don’t just focus on endangered species or ones that everyone may be talking about.  Although learning about threatened animals is important, it is helpful to start with animals you are more likely to see when on your adventure.  Trust me on this one. It definitely builds the momentum and keeps the excitement going.
